Change insync folder location in Linux

Before carrying out this operation. Please make sure that you have everything synced and quit insync. The command show below has to be passed in the terminal. For windows there is preference menu in the systray.

For Linux you can follow these steps:

1. Copy the /home//Insync directory to the new location.
2. Execute “insync –set-files-path=/new/location/Insync” from the command line.
3. When everything has been synced, quit Insync.

Now whenever you run Insync the new location will be used. Hope this helps.

  1. If I’m running two different Linux distros, could i just use this command to point my second distro to the location of my insync folder on the first with out any issues? ( “insync –set-files-path=/otherDistributionsPartion/location/Insync” )
